Student Loyalty Cards

International Student Identity Card (ISIC)

The ISIC card is the only internationally-recognised student ID and ISIC card holders are members of a truly global club. Every year more than 4.5 million students from 120 countries use their student card to take advantage of offers on travel, shopping, museums and more, worldwide.

 

The price of the ISIC is $20.00.The standard ISIC card is valid for 16 months, from the start of the academic year in September. Any ISIC issued after September 1 will be valid until December 31 of the following year.You can now apply for your ISIC online. Please make sure you have a photo of yourself, documentation of your student status, and a credit card before proceeding.

 

Student Price Card (SPC)

SPC is Canada’s most amazing loyalty card that provides students with discounts and deals at thousands of stores and restaurants across Canada. SPC Card is valid from August 1, 2015 until July 31, 2016. Each year new SPC Card must be purchased. The expiry date is printed on the back of the card and does not change regardless of when you buy the card- so make sure you buy it in August! Students may be asked to show valid student ID in order to be eligible to get the discounts. SPC partners have the right to refuse any discount if student ID is not shown.

Vancouver Public Library (VPL) Card

 

A valid Vancouver Public Library (VPL) card allows you to borrow library materials, use e-resources and access library internet stations at all branches.

 

Applying for a library card

Please apply at any VPL branch. If you already have a library card from an InterLINK public library we can register that card so that you can use it as a VPL card if you provide the necessary identification.

Acceptable identification

All identification must be original documents.

Preferred personal identification (name, signature and current address)

  • B.C. Driver's licence

  • B.C.I.D. (issued by ICBC Driver Licensing Centres for non-drivers)

 

The Vancouver Public Library also accepts government issued Canadian ID from other provinces such as passport, drivers licence, medical cards, birth certificates, Social Insurance Number card and permanent resident card.

 

If this identification does not have the current address, then one of the proof of residential address documents must also be shown.

 

  • Proof of residential address

  • Rental agreement (officially signed)

  • Bank statement or personalized cheque

  • Utility bill*

  • Personal mail with current postmark*

  • Hotel receipt(s)*

  • Home stay information letter (complete address & student’s name must be in letter)

  • Bank account or utility bills opened on your personal electronic device are accepted (photographs of documents are not)

 

*mailed items or receipts must be dated and no more than one month old.

High School students need only show their student I.D. cards issued by high schools.

Applicants who have address identification for the eligible areas but no Canadian issued I.D. may get a library card by showing a Canadian Study/Work Permit that has been issued for 6 months or more.

Annual Pass 

Capilano Suspension Bridge Park  - BC Residents Annual Pass

BC residents enjoy unlimited admission to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park for one full year from date of purchase. Enjoy all of the benefits of a yearly annual pass for just the price of one day’s regular admission. Annual passes are available at Guest Services, on the day of purchase. Please present valid B.C. photo ID at time of purchase and on subsequent visits.

Vancouver Aquarium - One Year/Two Year Membership

Membership to the Vancouver Aquarium, supports aquatic life by helping to fund vital conservation, research and education initiatives. Members also receive numerous benefits, including unlimited admission, express entry and exclusive invitation to members' events. Students (18 years and older) must provide a current ID card on first visit.

Vancouver Art Gallery

Enjoy the same benefits of a General Membership, including access to the Gallery Library, for a discounted price. Benefits include free, unlimited admission for one full year and priority admission and express entry. Valid student identification is required during purchase of membership pass.

Discounted Rate 

UBC Museum of Anthropology 

Enjoy discounted rate of $9 on Tuesday evenings from 5pm to 9pm for entry to UBC Museum of Anthropology. It houses one of the world’s finest displays of Northwest Coast First Nations art and also features extensive collections from around the world as well as a wide range of temporary exhibitions and guided tours.

Maritime Museum

Late Night Thursdays at the Maritime Museum have been an enormous success. Originally a sponsored initiative with funding from Vancouver Foundation, the Maritime Museum has decided to continue to remain open 5pm–8pm on Thursday evenings.

 

Vancouver Art Gallery

Enjoy access to exhibitions at Vancouver Art Gallery on Tuesdays evenings from 5pm-9pm, admission by donations.
